When I decided to build Legatry, the goal was to solve a personal problem within my own family. Growing up, I witnessed chaos, confusion, and frustration whenever a loved one passed away or assets were lost.
But as I began to add more features, I realized this wasn't just a tool to communicate and give access to important documents; it was quickly becoming a platform. A platform that could prevent the loss of wealth in the Black community due to missing or inaccurate paperwork. A platform for families to share and pass down their stories, photos, and complete legacy to the next generation.
The Black community is a rich and proud community that continues to lose wealth because of a lack of understanding of complex legal and financial documents. We shouldn't need a law degree to read and understand a deed or a will.
My mission is to close the generational wealth gap by building a central location where families can collaborate, share resources, and secure their complete legacy for the next generation.
